Privacy Policy

How LINA collects, uses, and protects your information.

LINA ("the App", "we", "us") helps you plan meals, track workouts, chat with our AI assistant, and manage your subscription. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using LINA you agree to these practices.

Information We Collect

  • Account & Profile: When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name and email. We also store preferences such as language, preferences, age, and height.
  • Health & Activity: Meals you log, nutrition targets, smart-scan photos, workouts, weight entries, and chat prompts/responses. You choose what to enter and can delete entries anytime.
  • Usage & Device Data: Device model, OS version, IP/inferred location, crash reports, and analytics events (screen views, button taps, in-app purchases) collected via Firebase, Expo, and Crashlytics.
  • Subscription Data: Purchase status, product IDs, and renewal info from RevenueCat/App Store/Play Store. We never see your full payment details.
  • Support Interactions: Messages or attachments you send to our support team.

How We Use Data

  • Provide core functionality: authenticate you, sync meals/workouts, tailor chat responses, and show history.
  • Improve coaching by aggregating meals, workouts, and chat feedback to refine recommendations and smart-scan detection.
  • Communicate with you via service emails and customer support replies.
  • Ensure reliability and safety: monitor crashes, detect abuse, prevent unauthorized access, and enforce terms.
  • Manage billing: confirm subscription status, restore purchases, and handle refunds with app stores.

Sharing & Processing

  • Service Providers: Firebase (auth, database, storage), Google Cloud/Vision (smart scan), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Expo/React Native services, analytics providers, and cloud hosting partners. They process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
  • Legal & Safety: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect users, our services, or rights.
  • Business Transfers: If we merge, sell assets, or reorganize, data may be transferred under the same privacy commitments.

We do not sell your personal data.

Data Retention & Control

  • Your entries stay until you delete them or close your account. Cached data may persist locally for speed.
  • Delete meals, workouts, or smart scans directly in the app.
  • To remove your account or request data export, email carlos.almeida.lina@gmail.com from your account email.
  • Backups may remain for a limited period for disaster recovery but are purged on a rolling basis.

Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, encryption at rest (via Firebase/Google Cloud), and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; report suspected issues to carlos.almeida.lina@gmail.com.

Children

LINA is not intended for users under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If a child's data is discovered we delete it promptly.

International Transfers

Data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards when required.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, or object to our use of your data, plus data portability. Contact carlos.almeida.lina@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

We will notify you via the app or email before material changes take effect. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
